100% Unrefined Yellow Shea butter is a skin and hair super-food that comes from the seeds of the fruit of the Shea (Karite) tree and Borotutu tree that is naturally rich in antioxidants, vitamins A, E and F. The medicinal borututu root (Cochlospermum angolensis) has been used in West Africa for many years, not only for coloring but primarily for enriching shea butter with its healing effects in combating inflammation and infection. It has antibacterial properties and helps heal skin problems and burns. The Borututu root is shredded and added to the milling step of Shea butter production, and the result is a Shea Butter that has a pretty bright yellow colour and infused with incredible antioxidants and healing elements in addition to those of our Ivory Shea Butter.
